Together, we can empower, impact and change the lives of trafficked girls.

Jouzge is pleased to support Project Warrior with a monetary donation of 2 cents from each treat sold, which sounds itty bitty but adds up quickly. Project Warrior is an initiative of non-profit Girls Above Society, which impacts rescued girls from human trafficking.

The numbers;

  • 600,000 to 800,000 women, children and men bought and sold across international borders every year and exploited for forced labor or commercial sex (U.S. Government)
  • When internal trafficking victims are added to the estimates, the number of victims annually is in the range of 2 to 4 million
  • 50% of those victims are estimated to be children
  • It is estimated that 76 percent of transactions for sex with underage girls start on the Internet
  • 2 million children are subjected to prostitution in the global commercial sex trade (UNICEF)
  • 1.5 Million victims in the United States

The impact;

  • Human trafficking has surpassed the illegal sale of arms
  • Trafficking will surpass the illegal sale of drugs in the next few years
  • Drugs are used once and they are gone. Victims of child trafficking can be used and abused over and over
  • A $32 billion-a-year industry, human trafficking is on the rise and is in all 50 states (U.S. Government)
  • 4.5 Million of trafficked persons are sexually exploited
  • Up to 300,000 Americans under 18 are lured into the commercial sex trade every year
  • From 14,500 – 17,500 of those victims are trafficked into the United States each year

On the heels of U.S. Department’s Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons 2016 (TIP) report, Lauren Galley, award winning teen mentor and President of Girls Above Society launches “Project Warrior” with a goal of impacting rescued girls from human trafficking in all fifty states in the U.S., empowering them to take back their self-worth. Galley’s brush with being targeted online for the intent of sex trafficking prompted her to empower girls far beyond her GIRL TALK program.

Dana Wendt, CEO and founder of Jouzge, a Golden Family Company brand has partnered with Galley dedicating a monetary amount from each treat sold to further impact Project Warrior and it’s empowerment of rescued human trafficked girls. Wendt herself is a survivor of childhood sexual abuse and feels this mission is two fold. “Project Warrior benefits the survivors of trafficking as well as bringing awareness to teen girls on what predatory behavior looks like. It is important to understand this is happening every day here in our country, our states, our cities and in our towns. This issue cannot be dismissed. I learned long ago that you decide what you fill that hallowed out space up with however I had the benefit of food, water, shelter, clothing and a whole lot more. These girls show up with nothing but the clothes on their backs’. There is a great need here and we believe Project Warrior will succeed in addressing these girls challenges as well as educating girls everywhere about human trafficking. Together, let’s help these girls overcome and not only to survive, but to thrive.” said Wendt.

Galley’s future goals for Project Warrior include adding an extension beyond the warrior bags(rather than being handed a garbage bag of basic supplies), awarding girls with education scholarships that will further advance rescued girls, giving them the tools to live a successful future, never living the life as a trafficked girl again.
